*   **Why it is vacant:** Your previous representative, Republican **Ken Buck**, resigned from Congress on March 22, 2024, before the end of his term.
*   **When it will be filled:** A special election to fill the remainder of Ken Buck's term (which ends in January 2025) will be held on **June 25, 2024**. The candidates for this special election are Greg Lopez (R) and Trisha Calvarese (D). 
*   **The 2025 Term:** On that exact same day (June 25), there will also be a regular primary election to decide who will run in November for the *next* full term, which starts in January 2025. (This is the race that has made national news because Rep. Lauren Boebert, who currently represents CO-03, moved districts to run in the CO-04 primary).
