Your current U.S. Representative for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District (AL-02) is **Barry Moore** (a Republican). 

**However, there is an important update you should know about your district:**

Due to a federal court order in late 2023, Alabama's congressional maps were redrawn. Here is how that affects AL-02:

* **Current Term:** Barry Moore will continue to represent AL-02 until his term ends in early January 2025. 
* **The 2024 Election:** The new map significantly changed the boundaries of AL-02. Because of this, Barry Moore chose to run for re-election in the newly drawn 1st District (AL-01) instead. 
* **Your Next Representative:** In the November 2024 general election, AL-02 voters will choose between **Shomari Figures** (Democrat) and **Caroleene Dobson** (Republican) to be the district's next representative. The winner will take office in January 2025.
